“Be fruitful and multiply!”
These are the commissioning words of God to Adam and Eve in the beginning, to Noah and his family after the flood, and it is the spirit of The Great Commission given by Jesus, “Go and make disciples.” Another important multiplying principle is that we only multiply what we are.
Christ Community Church is deeply called to discover and live out the relational depth God intends for us with him and each other. Occasionally you will hear us say, “Community is our middle name!” So in living out our call to be fruitful and to multiply, we are intentional about the kind of missions we involve ourselves with. We support a variety of foreign endeavors with both relational and financial support.
We have been involved in Tenancingo, State of Mexico, Mexico for nearly 20 years. Working with the church planters, Chris and Kathy Gouzoules, by sending our pastor frequently, we have collaborated in the flourishing of that congregation. Short term groups have also been key in moving projects along and making key relationships. Today, leadership of the church has transitioned to Pastor Richarte who is helped by his wife and a strong team of deacons and other servant leaders. We maintain a strong relationship with him and the congregation. Not only has God allowed us to be a blessing to them, but they have become a rich blessing to us!
Secondly, we support one of our own. Dan Hennenfent lives locally and is the Executive Director of Cup of Cold Water Ministries, a missionary sending organization. We are blessed to have Dan and his wife, Marcy, in our congregation and being a great influence in various parts of the world.
Our third emphasis is sending our pastor to care for missionaries while they are in the field. In cooperation with The Christian Hospitality Network, Young Life Western Europe, and other mission relationships, our values of caring for the missionary even more than the mission, and multiplying the experience of church as community are bearing fruit around the world. For this we give God great thanks
